Okay, I am Black woman over 40. And, I love this face wash. I suffered from pretty bad acne. I had been using ProActiv and decided to use Philosophy Purity. Yikes! My face developed horrible acne that ProActiv could not clear. I tried a number of different products before trying Oxy. And, man, does it work. My skin looks and feels wonderful. I use the complete Oxy line. I start with the scrub, then follow it up with the wash. I use the cleansing pads and spot treatment (which I actually apply to my full face). It keeps my face clear. And, if I get an occasional pimple, it is cleared very quickly. As compared to other acne treatments, Oxy is very inexpensive. I went ahead and started subscribing to the products so I would not run out.
WARNING: This is NOT for anyone with sensitive skin. This is very strong. Also, it can bleach clothing so be sure that you aren't wearing your favorite clothing when you wash up!

From about age 13 to 23, I regularly suffered from pretty bad acne outbreaks. I tried all sorts of medications to treat it, both prescribed and over the counter. I had become all but resigned to the idea that it would become a lifelong affliction. It was not until I discovered this stuff while in college that I had found a truly effective solution for my acne woes. I have been using it for about 4-5 years now and could not be happier. Save yourself some trips to the dermatologist and unhealthy antiobiotic prescriptions and give this a shot. The only downside to is that the active ingredient (benzoyle peroxide) is a bleaching agent. You've got to be careful that it doesn't get on your clothes, carpet etc.

Proactiv is wimpy and never did clear my skin,and I used it for 8 months! This oxy face wash is so much cheaper,and yet,much more effective.
I use it in conjunction with Differin,and it works great! It may not be for those sensitive to Benzoyl Peroxide because it is the highest percent you can buy without a prescription.I found that my skin adjusted to it after about two weeks and any irritation I had subsided.
Benzoyl peroxide is said to be one the best treatments for acne because it eliminates bacteria without building resistance to it.If your acne doesn't respond to the wimpy 2% versions like proactiv,give this a try! And remember,no acne treatment works overnight!!! It takes a good month or two for the medicine to clear what is beneath your skin waiting to emerge.Any product that claims otherwise is lying,ask any dermatologist who isn't being paid to star in an infomercial!

I am 27 years old and I have been using this product for about two years now. Since I was 13 I've pretty much always had acne. But since using this product my skin is so much clearer and I only get a break out or two right before my period. I use it twice a day. When I use it in the shower I lather it onto my face and leave it on there like a mask for about 3-4 minutes. I had to work up to this over a couple weeks. I have used proactive for a while before and for how expensive it is, it does not work very well. Save your money and buy this product instead. I also use Nutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub with it. I use it every morning in the shower right before I use the Oxy acne wash. They work great together. Just a warning, it doesn't matter how well you rince it off your face if you dry your face with a colored towel after use it will bleach it. It will also bleach the towel you put your hair up in. I highly suggest you save your pretty colored towels the agony of being bleached and simply use white towels.

This product cleared my skin in just a few days of twice daily use. Also, no new outbreaks have occurred since I began using Oxy Max. Prior to Oxy, I used a prescription wash with 4% benzoyle peroxide. This prescription did not work nearly as well as Oxy. A word of caution; Oxy will definately bleach towels, wash clothes or anything else that contacts it. A few drops of water and Oxy splashed onto a bathmat unnoticed until the next day when small, bleached spots appeared. Other than that, this is an amazing product.
